The little blue banana sticker

The famous small blue sticker of Chiquita has got an updated look for their Eat a Chiquita campaign, or in fact many different looks. The concept was created by designer DJ Neff, based on the idea of giving bananas individual personalities and to do something funny out of the need to keep bananas fresh, Don’t let them turn bad.

Apart from the actual stickers, the concept involves a campaign site with a do-it-yourself function if you’d like to play around with the design of the little blue sticker. There’s also a game called Banana Boogie Battle, where you can do some breakdance battle against bananas that have turned to the dark side (meaning turned bad, literally speaking).

It seems to be trendy to read and make sophisticated comics these days. If you’d like to get a glimpse of the lively activity within the Nordic comics art scene, it has been visualized through an exhibition at the Nordic Watercolour Museum in Skärhamn, a couple of miles to the north of Gothenburg.

The unique original pictures for Contemporary Nordic Comics have been assembled with contributions from 19 artists from all Nordic countries, and were put together in a blend of elegant, raw, cute and brutal descriptions of life.

Images show artworks by Jóhann Ludwig Torfason from Iceland (left) and Katja Tukianen from Finland (right).
